Alta Miller, age 88, of Uniontown, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday December 15, 2011 at Walnut Hills Retirement Center. She was born in Uniontown on December 5, 1923 to the late Jacob L. and Fannie (Sommers) Miller. She worked for years at The Pantry and then retired from the Hartville IGA. She was a member of Cornerstone Mennonite Church. For years, Alta was a volunteer at Aultman Hospital. Alta enjoyed needlepoint and gave away many of her artwork pieces. She is survived by her siblings Grace Gingerich, Calvin (Shirley) Miller all of Hartville, Catherine (Dave) Hartzler of TN, Floyd (Edith) Miller of Colorado, James (Pauline) Miller of Alberta, Canada, Ruth Pankratz of Hartville, Jacob Miller Jr. of Ravenna, Martin (Katie) Miller of Uniontown, Virgina (Juergen) Fenske of Hartville, Glenn (LeAnne) Miller of Applecreek; sister-in-law Irene Miller of Hartville; brother-in-law Coevel Thomas of PA; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by siblings Dorothy Miller, Marie Thomas and Willis Miller; and siblings-in-law John Gingerich, Dorothy Miller and Catherine Miller. Calling hours are Saturday 9:30-11:00 a.m. at Cornerstone Mennonite Church. Funeral services begin Saturday at 11:00 a.m. in the church with Pastor Stan Grizzle officiating.
