Allen Smuckler, age 92, of North Canton, passed away Friday January 27, 2012 at the Aultman Compassionate Care Center. He was born August 21, 1919 in Canton to Harry and Lena (Block) Smuckler and was a lifetime resident. Mr. Smuckler was the former co-owner of Canton Hotel and Restaurant Supply and Fairmont Provision in Alliance. He attended Lehman High School and graduated from McKinley High School in 1937. Allen was a member of Temple Israel, Temple Brotherhood and Canton Jewish Community Center. He is survived by his wife Pauline Jhona Smuckler of North Canton; daughters and sons-in-law, Denise and Steve Nielsen of Canton, Debbie and Michael Spetich of Canton; brother, Hershel (Harlene) Smuckler of Canton; grandchildren, Eric Nielsen, Heather Nielsen and Melissa Spetich and many loving nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by sisters, Yetta Goldstein, Freda Brokstein, Ida Solomon and Elaine Tenenbaum. Following cremation, a memorial service will be Monday 11:00 a.m. at the Arnold Funeral Home with Rabbi Jon Adland officiating. Interment will be in North Lawn Cemetery.
