Alice Marie Kettering, age 100, of Canton went home to be with the Lord on Thursday night July 22, 2010 at the Canton Regency. Marie celebrated her 100th birthday at the Canton Regency this year with her family and friends. She was born on January 11, 1910 in Louisville, Ohio to the late Charles Wesley and Ora Pearl (Richardson) Chenot. Marie had been a member of Zion United Church of Christ. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and working with her husband, Walter Kettering, in their many businesses. They traveled extensively in the United States and Europe. During her residency of many years in the state of Florida, she won numerous prizes at Florida State Fairs for her orchids. Preceded in death by her husband of 60 years Walter in 1994 and the son she adored, Richard Wayne Kettering in 2006; brothers Arthur Chenot, Carl Chenot and Richard Chenot; and sisters Kathryn Campbell and Evelyn Bennett. Marie is survived by her sisters Marjorie Cox of Hartville and Polly Jacob of Canton, as well as many nieces and nephews. Funeral services are Monday 11 AM in the Arnold Funeral Home Canton. Calling hours are one hour prior to services Monday 10-11 AM. Final resting place is North Canton Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Zion United Church of Christ in North Canton.
