Alice passed peacefully at Brookdale Assisted Living in Canton, Ohio on January 28, 2026. She was born on May 12, 1935, in Carter County, KY to James Huff Clark and Opal Marie Gullet. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Gerald R. Donohoe, and siblings Lois Clark Tegan, George Rogers Clark (Clarice Sexton), Mary Jewell Clark Bailey, and Raymond Clark. She is survived by brothers, Willie Kenneth Clark of Lorain, Ohio, James Sawyer Clark of Texas and Michael Moss (Carol) of Florida, and a sister, Elizabeth Nicholson of Florida and nieces/nephews: Paula (Greg) Beacom of Hartville, OH, Phyllis Clark, of Grafton, OH, Phillip Clark (Annette) of Perrysburg, OH, Paul Clark (Jennifer) of Port Clinton, OH, Abigail (Holden) Stallsmith of Akron, OH, Joshua Beacom of Hartville, OH, Denise (Ralph) Davis of Pittsburgh, and Sherry (Bill) Davis of Arizona, and many other nieces, nephews and friends. Alice also leaves behind best friends John (Bonnie) Niemich of Columbus, OH, Ginni (Tom) Cage of Cortland, OH, Patrick (Becky) Elwood of Girard, OH, and Ella Carlton and Inez Scarver of Niles, OH. Alice was active in the Warren community for many years, participating in Garden Clubs, the Berlin Yacht Club, and in the Catholic community, attending mass, singing in the church choir and in the yearly performances of The Messiah with the Messiah Chorus. Alice earned a degree in Accounting from Trumbull Business College and was a member of Tau Beta Chi. She was a hard worker and worked many years for Thorofare (in Pittsburgh), Kroger’s, Cicero’s Market and Giant Eagle in Warren. Alice was a no-nonsense person, very curious and always a learner. She was quick to laugh, and quick to tell you what she thought! She loved animals and good food. She was a very good cook. Oh, Alice, we will miss you!
The family would like to especially express our deepest and most sincere gratitude for all the love and care that the Brookdale Canton Community and Southern Care Hospice showed towards Alice.
There will be no viewing. Everyone please meet at the Church. A Mass of Christian Burial for Alice will be celebrated by Father Christopher Cicero, at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at St. James Church, 2532 Burton St. Warren, OH 44484. Alice’s final resting place will be in Calvary Cemetery, Pittsburgh, PA next to her husband. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Alice’s memory to Trumbull Mobile Meals (trumbullmobilemeals.org) or Animal Rescue League of Trumbull County (awlrescueme.com). Cremated remains entrusted to Arnold Funeral Homes and Cremation, Canton, OH (arnoldfuneralhome.com).
