Alfred L. Pfouts III, age 82, passed away Friday February 16, 2007. A lifelong resident of Stark County he was a former 45 year employee of Kempthorn Motors retiring in 1988. A 1943 graduate of McKinley High School and an Army Air Force Veteran of World War II, having been a B-25 light bomber pilot. Survived by his wife of 60 years Betty (Fry) Pfouts; daughter Stephanie Dieringer of Ravenna; son and daughter-in-law, Alfred IV and Rebecca Pfouts of Canton; granddaughter Michelle Pfouts; grandsons Shawn (Shari) Dieringer, Thomas Dieringer and Alfred Pfouts V; and great-grandchildren, Aaron, Alexis and Austin Dieringer. Preceded in death by his parents, Alfred L. Pfouts II and Opal (Sponseller) Pfouts; and sister, Sarah Pfouts. He was a life long member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Fidelity Lodge 712 F & AM, Scottish Rite Valley of Canton, Charter member of East Central Ohio Pilot's Association, Experimental Aircraft Association and especially proud of his membership in The Quiet Birdmen. There will be no calling hours, A Masonic Service followed by a funeral service will be held Privately for the family Monday 1:00 PM in the Arnold Funeral Home with Pastor Darlene Grega officiating.
