Obituary

Alfred George Bauer Alfred G. "Bud" Bauer, age 78, of Marlboro Township went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 29, 2015. He was born in Ridgway, Pennsylvania on July 13, 1936 to the late Alfred John Bauer and the late Mary Kathleen Kearney Bauer, and raised in Elk County, Pennsylvania. He served in the United States Air Force, and while stationed in Germany in the 1950's, he married the late Mary Lorraine Prather, also of Marlboro Township. Upon his return, Bud worked at Sugardale Foods in Canton, Ohio until his retirement in 1998. Bud enjoyed being outdoors, farming, walking or riding his bicycle, woodworking, and marveled at airplanes, locomotives and tractors. Bud was also preceded in death by his step-mother, Virginia Bauer; wife of 44 years, Mary L. Bauer; brother Robert Bauer, brother-in-law Leo Harvey, and sister-in-law, Beverly "Babe" Prather. Bud is survived by his current wife, Lucille; sons, Jeffrey George (Mary) Bauer, of Riverton, Utah; Keith Bauer of Hartville, Ohio; and Dana Brett (Lynn) Bauer of Fairborn, Ohio; step-son Gary Allen (Margo) Daut of Monroe, Georgia; and grandson, Trevor George Bauer of Riverton, Utah. Bud is also survived by a brother, David (Marie) Bauer, and two sisters, Gloria Bauer Harvey and Denise (Ronald) Simbeck, and sister-in-law Linda Bauer, all of St. Mary's, Pennsylvania; brothers-in-law, Francis (Evelyn) Prather of Lexington Township, and Donald (Janet) Prather, of Marlboro Township; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, and his best childhood friend, Richard Johnson of Ridgway, Pennsylvania. No services will be held. Interment will be held privately. Arnold Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
