Captain Daniel P. Stiles, age 46 of Uniontown, passed away in the line of duty on Tuesday February 15, 2011. He was born in Hudson on August 9, 1964 to Clifford and Helen (Laslo) Stiles. Daniel was a Uniontown resident for the past 11 years and during that time served as a Police officer in Hartville and Joined the Uniontown Police Department in 2009. He became Captain in 2010, was officer of the year in 2010 and was spearheading the Special Response Team. Following his graduation from Hudson High School in 1982, he joined the Marine Corp where he was a helicopter engineer and door gunner. Dan was a member of the Roy Hobbs Baseball League and enjoyed golf. Captain Stiles was passionate about Police work and sports but his greatest passion and love was for his family. He is survived by his wife Tiffany; daughters, Heather, Haley, Alyssa and his mother, Helen Stiles. Calling hours are Friday 4-8:00 p.m. at Lake Center Christian School Gymnasium. Funeral services with full Police Honors will be Saturday 11:00 a.m. at Lake Center Christian School with Pastor Jerry Witt and Rev. Bob Denten officiating. Interment will follow in Greentown Cemetery with Military Honors. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Dan Stiles Memorial Fund at Key Bank for the benefit of his children.
