Anna Vera Yoder, age 96, passed away Thursday evening in the House of Loreto. Born in Washingtonville, OH to the late Edward and Anna Davis Yoder, she was a graduate of Salem High School, and Mercy Hospital School of Professional Nursing. Vera had worked as an occupational health nurse for Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. Akron and Hercules Engine Co. retiring in 1983 after 38 years of service. Vera was a member and former deacon of Christ Presbyterian Church, life member Mercy Hospital Alumni Association and Trirosis. She had also been active in the American Red Cross, a volunteer at the House of Loreto and to the food ministry of her church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister Elizabeth and two brothers Lloyd and Fred Yoder. Survivors include many cousins and friends. Funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Monday in the Chapel of the House of Loreto with Pastor Wendy Bausman Gray officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Entombment will be in the North Lawn Chapel of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the House of Loreto 2812 Harvard Ave., N.W. Canton, OH 44709.
