COVID-19 Information

To Our Friends and Neighbors,

We have been monitoring the situation with the COVID-19 pandemic and are closely following the guidelines and recommendations of the CDC, Ohio Department of Health, State of Ohio, and Federal Government. While each passing day brings new developments, our top priority continues to be the health and safety of our community, the families we serve, and our staff. In order to help contain the transmission of COVID-19, we will be implementing additional precautionary measures effective immediately. These measures are subject to change with or without notice and we will continue to update them as we learn more about this virus.

Effective immediately, The J.L Arnold and Sons Co. and it’s three locations, the Arnold Funeral Home - Canton, The Arnold Funeral Home - Hartville, and The Arnold & Spiker-Foster-Shriver Funeral Home of Canton, will offer private family-only services and visitations. Per Federal guidance, we will limit the number of attendees to 10 per service. Families will be instructed by our directors on how best to limit the number of immediate family members gathered at any one-time at our facilities. Unfortunately, the general public will be unable to attend these private gatherings. We will continue to offer an online Guestbook and online Tribute Wall on our website, www.arnoldfuneralhome.com, which will allow the public to express their condolences and show their support. We also actively encourage our community to pray for the deceased and their families. Your expressions of love, phone calls of support, and notes of encouragement can and will provide comfort at this time.

Additionally, we encourage all families to make arrangements virtually or over the phone. We also encourage family members to consider further precautionary measures such as proceeding with an outdoor graveside or committal service but delaying the memorial services until a safer date. For reference, if you are a member of a local Catholic parish, the Ohio Bishops have suspended all masses and liturgies through Holy Week and Easter, April 12, 2020. Additionally, the local Episcopal churches have suspended services indefinitely.

Furthermore, to protect the elderly and those most at risk from the virus, we have increased our vigilance in cleaning, disinfecting and sanitization protocols at our locations. We are confident that our facilities, vehicles and equipment remain clean and sanitary.
