Wesley Allman Obituary

Wesley A. Allman, age 77, passed away on April 3, 2024.  Wes was born on July 16, 1946, in Bellevue, PA.  He obtained his mechanical engineering degree from the University of Cincinnati and worked at Babcock & Wilcox in Barberton for 42 years.  Wes lived in Hartville for over 40 years before relocating to Wooster.  Wes was a long-time member of the United Methodist Church in Uniontown.

Wes was an enthusiastic sports fan.  His favorite sport was whatever his kids or grandkids were playing.  In season, baseball was omnipresent---whether watching a game, checking box scores, or just complaining about some misguided pitching change!  He enjoyed playing golf with pals and going to museums that taught him how things work.  Wes loved to hike---and even more so with his family and one of his four-legged companions in tow.  He was an excellent handyman who could seemingly fix anything.  He was always ready to lend a hand with---or at least supervise!---projects his less capable family members had undertaken!  Similarly, he was quick to recognize special occasions and significant events in others' lives.  He was a purveyor of Dad jokes and loved pouring over photographs of his grandkids.

Wes was preceded in death by his wife Diana (Vankirk); parents Sara (Allison) and Leonard; and sister Sally Bryant.  Wes' impact will live on through the lessons he taught and example he set to his children Mark (Meredith) and Christine; his grandchildren Leah, Sarah, and Ryan; and a bevy of family, friends, neighbors, and colleagues.
