Linda L. (Schlessner) Grissom of Randolph, 76, was called home to our Lord on Friday, March 8th.
Linda was born in Oak Harbor, Ohio on November 19, 1947, to her parents Geraldine (Cover) and Donald Schlessner. When she was a teenager, they relocated to the Northampton/Peninsula area where she graduated from Woodridge High School.
Linda and her loving husband, Richard, celebrated their 49th wedding anniversary this past November and she would often say she didn’t know why the Lord blessed her with him, but Richard says the same thing about her. They raised their four children in Cuyahoga Falls and later in Randolph.
Throughout her life, Linda worked for Lawson’s, Revco’s Credit Union, the Press of Ohio, and supporting partner at their Primerica business. However, nothing was more rewarding than being a loving wife to Rick and a wonderful mother to Michael, Mark, Jennifer, and Rick Jr., which she excelled at.
Linda loved spending time with her family, camping, being a daily prayer warrior for family and friends, and just sitting on the porch taking in God’s creation while listening to her wind chimes. She was a longtime member of the Chapel In Marlboro where she had many dear friends.
Linda is survived by the love of her life, Richard, their four children Michael (Diana), Mark (Kathi), Jennifer (John) Galehouse, and Rick Jr (Alexandria), grandchildren Hannah, Noah, Matt (Ashley), Katie, Alyssa, John Jr, Aidan, Presley, Lynsie, and CJ., and great grandchildren Gigi and Brennan. She also leaves behind her sisters Deanna (Wes) Redd, Peggy (Robert) McKenna, Sherry (John) Simmons, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents Geraldine and Donald and her brother Don.
Richard and the family would like to thank Summa Hospice and Home Instead for the wonderful care they have given Linda over these last few months.
Visitation will be 9:30am-11am on Friday, March 15 at the Chapel In Marlboro, immediately followed by the funeral service with Pastor Tom Edwards officiating. Interment at the Randolph Hillside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in her memory to either the Haven of Rest in Akron or the Alliance Pregnancy Center.
